I won´t deny that Steve and Kazuya are the most broken characters in Smash, but at this rate exists a lot of counterplays to it For example, with Mario (my main) you can destroy blocks easily with cape, f tilt and spaced bairs (to avoid Steve´s F smash), use fireballs to destroy the TNT easier (best case scenario you can hurt Steve with the explosion), reflect the anvil (IT´S SO SATISFYING WATCHING HIM DIE AT 50% WITH IT), try to Up smash his minecart, roll in when he´s close at you, or hitting him above the minecart with a short hop nair o dair, which damages Steve an leads to a combo/juggle situation. Of course you have to keep your distance a bit when it comes to attacks since all of his attacks are disjoints, but when you start to combo him at 40%, pray for make the kill with a ladder combo or putting him into a disadvantage state. Hope this could help you a bit to you all
